Made Thought

Made Thought are a ground breaking creative design agency who create brands, products and experiences. We have followed their work for some years now and were delighted to be asked to design their store in Spitalfields, London. The store will be both a shop and a gallery, displaying some of Made Thought work as well as launching their new apparel and merchandise range. We have been working closely with Made Thought team for the last 5 months developing and delivering the project which will open on 19th September 2019.

Made Thought and Studioshaw have a shared sustainability ethos and the new interventions are constructed using mostly recycled materials. Within the store, we have designed two monolithic concrete plinths using Lignacite blocks. These sit in the centre of the space and create a neutral yet rich surface on which Made Thought can display their work.

We also designed a bespoke shelving system using Valchromat MDF that creates a continuous perimeter datum. There is a multifunctional space in the basement that will host a rolling programme of events.

Made Thought Store is open from September - November 2019 at 27 Short Gardens, London.

The Shaftesbury Collection

We are currently on site with three projects for developer Shaftesbury PLC with a 4th appearing on the drawing board, having completed our first for them successfully earlier this year. In each project we work with new and interesting materials, bringing a carefully selected and contemporary palette to these unique spaces.

We enjoy working in Soho bringing something original to the design of the workspaces for the media and design community. We are super happy to be working with Shaftesbury as they are a design literate client and support our use of interesting materials, encouraging mock-ups to be made of various elements of the design to test and fully resolve the detailing.

Craig and Rose

Following our Brintons pavilions for Clerkenwell design week last May, iconic British brand Craig and Rose asked us to design an installation to showcase their new product range. All will be unveiled at the London Design Fair at Old Truman Brewery which is Part of London Design Festival taking place this year 14-22 September.

Our design attempts to create an experiential installation allowing visitors to be immersed in the new colour collection for 2019. Inspired by the Bauhaus movements and the work of  Hélio Oiticica, a series of panels create large and small spaces with portals which gives vistas through the space encouraging a range of colour combinations to be experienced.

Established in 1829 by two young Scottish entrepreneurs James Craig & Hugh Rose, Craig & Rose became renowned for manufacturing superior quality paints. Over the years, Craig & Rose has won numerous exciting contracts, such as painting the renowned Forth Bridge and manufacturing paint for St Paul’s Cathedral and famous palaces around the world.

BLOOM on site

This 125,000 sq ft of Grade A office space and 10,000 sq ft of retail space at street level is now on site. Working with HB Reavis, this seven storey scheme in Farringdon has a set of external terraces which have become a key selling point for the scheme. We also realigned the entrance and created a covered winter garden space as part of the open ground floor experience.

We were selected by HB Reavis after entering an Archiboo organized event at MIPIM UK and since then we have had an ongoing role on the project which is due to be completed in 2021.
