Redesigned Workspace for Shaftesbury PLC, Soho, London.
The existing 400m2, four storey office building is located on the corner of Carnaby Street and has been comprehensively refurbished as part of the works for Shaftesbury PLC.
Studioshaw have lined the walls on each floor with a bespoke CNC profiled blue Valchromat which also forms the surrounds for a series of floor mounted air conditioning units. This blue datum is continued in kitchen and WC areas, with antique brass ironmongery details throughout. The 4th floor opens out onto a roof terrace, with new planters, decking and a bespoke retractable awning creating a desirable external area for year round use. External works also include three new conservation roof lights and timber cladding to existing masonry walls.
The scheme marks a significant departure for Shaftesbury who have previously adopted a simple white walls, plain finishes policy. The space let immediately.
Jess Hickley, Portfolio Manager, Carnaby and Soho: “We have been incredibly impressed with studioshaw, they are so enthusiastic about our portfolio and have taken the time to really get to know it and to understand what we need. Our first project with them looks amazing; the proof is how quickly we let the building following completion. It is fantastic to be able to differentiate our product in Carnaby, particularly when we have so many historic or listed buildings within our ownership.”
