Gatehouse and Reception, White City Place, for Stanhope PLC

The project consists of an extensive refurbishment of the existing gatehouse at White City Place in West London, for Stanhope PLC.

The gatehouse is the point of cycle and vehicle entry at the site and sits in a prominent position on the A40, passed by around 160,000 cars each day.

Studioshaw is proposing a refurbishment which will celebrates this key position, improving the entrance experience for visitors, as well as a better working environment for the security staff. The structure will become a ‘light box’, acting as a beacon to passers by. Internally the work includes a new layout with new joinery, kitchen and bathroom, and a double-height, top-lit workspace for staff.

Nick Hiles, Stanhope PLC; “The joy of using Mark and the team at studioshaw is giving them a problem and then being presented with a range of solutions that just work so perfectly… or provoke a creative debate, that then produces such a imaginative and pleasing result, one that we could not come to on our own.'“
