About
Studioshaw Inside is our interiors studio: a separate company that brings the same design thinking and creative standards as our architectural practice to projects that don’t need heavy construction or the full regulatory process. It’s right for interiors-led work, from light refurbishments and upgrades to hospitality, residential, and mixed-use spaces, giving clients our vision and design intelligence at a level that’s proportionate to the project in front of them.
Kept legally separate, with its own insurance and bank account, it works hand in hand with the practice. A project can sit with whichever company fits it best and move between the two as its scope evolves. On architectural projects, Studioshaw Inside can layer on -op as an added service when a client wants a deeper level of interior design than a traditional architectural fee would cover.
Homes
For homes, we design interiors that are considered, personal and built around how you actually live. We work differently to most interior designers. Because we think as architects first, we start with light, space and shape, not just finishes and fabrics, designing the whole environment rather than dressing it. From a full refurbishment to a lighter upgrade, that holistic approach runs through everything, at a scale that suits the project.
Commercial
We design commercial interiors that give a space atmosphere and identity: restaurants, bars, members’ clubs, workspaces and cultural spaces. We start with how people move and feel in a room, then shape the light, materials and detail around it. The result is a space that is not ‘on-trend’, works hard and feels like yours.
Exhibition & Pop-up
Pop-ups and installations are where we move quickly and make an impact. Short-life by design, these projects distil a brand or an idea into a space people remember, from exhibitions and brand activations to temporary retail. Small in footprint, big on presence.
Because they are temporary, pop-ups and exhibitions are also where our Re:Low thinking matters most. A short-life space should not end its life as landfill. We design for disassembly and reuse, choosing materials that can be taken apart, returned, repurposed or recycled once the event is over, so the impact ends when the show does, not the materials. It is the same low-impact, low-waste approach that runs through our architecture, applied to spaces that are built to come down.
FAQs
How is Studioshaw Inside different from the architecture practice?
Same team, same standards, different scope. The architecture practice handles construction-led projects that carry the full RIBA process and regulatory duties. Studioshaw Inside takes on interiors-led work that does not need all of that, so you get our design intelligence without the weight and cost of a full architectural appointment. They are separate companies sharing one design culture.
Why is Studioshaw Inside a separate company?
It is a distinct limited company with its own insurance and bank account, kept legally separate from the architectural practice. That separation is deliberate: it keeps the right professional cover and liabilities attached to the right kind of work, which protects both you and us. Day to day, you still work with one team and one design culture.
What kinds of projects does Studioshaw Inside take on?
Interiors-led work across residential, hospitality and mixed-use spaces. That ranges from light refurbishments and upgrades to fuller interior design for homes, restaurants, workplaces, members’ clubs, retail and cultural spaces. If a project is more about the interior than the structure, it is likely a fit for Studioshaw Inside.
Can Studioshaw Inside work alongside an architectural project?
Yes. On architectural projects, Studioshaw Inside can layer on top as an added service when you want a deeper level of interior design than a traditional architectural fee would cover. The same team takes the interior further, through the right entity, without stretching the architectural appointment to do a job it is not scoped for.
Can a project move between Studioshaw Inside and the architecture practice?
Yes. A project can sit with whichever company fits it best and move between the two as its scope evolves. If an interiors project grows into something that needs full architectural input, nothing is lost: it is the same people, the same standards, the same creative direction, handled through the right structure for the work.
Do I need an architect for an interiors project?
Often not. Interior refurbishments, fit-outs and upgrades that do not alter the structure or trigger planning and building regulations usually do not require a full architectural appointment. Studioshaw Inside is set up exactly for this. If your project does cross into territory that needs an architect, we will tell you and bring the practice in.
Do you work on commercial and hospitality interiors as well as homes?
Yes. Studioshaw Inside works across residential and commercial interiors, including hospitality, workplace, retail, members’ clubs, and cultural and exhibition spaces. Our work spans restaurants, wellness studios, co-working spaces, workplace fit-outs and exhibition design, alongside private homes.
How do I start a project with Studioshaw Inside?
It starts with a conversation about your space, your brief and your budget. We will advise whether Studioshaw Inside is the right fit or whether the project needs the architecture practice, and design from there. Get in touch.
